YOUR SUPPORT IS NEEDED TO BRING PROMETHEUS TO THE NEVADA DESERT

Prometheus, a Titan in Greek mythology, brought humans the gift of fire and illuminated their lives with art, knowledge, and power.

This sculpture represents those gifts descending from the heavens and rooting into Earth. Its lit and mirrored interior helps viewers see this elemental power in themselves.

A COMPLETE VIEW

Wandering through the work, the internally facing mirrors reflect off one another, creating a captivating experience where one can see their own selves in infinitum and all angles of their whole body at once, a rare opportunity which also speaks to the metaphorical challenge of being able to see all aspects of an individual at any given time.

MADE FROM SOME OF THE OLDEST STONE ON EARTH

Prometheus is a grouping of four ten-foot tall towers. Each of the outward faces of each tower is clad with Zimbabwean Black Granite, dated at least 500 million years old, among the oldest stones on earth.

The interior faces are acrylic with a one-way mirror treatment that allows light to shine through as ambient light darkens.

Overall, the work is minimalist and static, providing a sense of calm to its viewers in an otherwise hyper stimulating environment.

CONNECTING TO THE HEAVENS

Each tower will contain a high-powered beam light that is directed upwards. This visually extends each tower infinitely to the sky and serves as a beacon to locate the otherwise externally darkened work at night.

Overall, the work is minimalist and static, providing a sense of calm to its viewers in an otherwise hyper stimulating environment.
